How to install the Yoast SEO plugin in WordPress

Introduction

This guide explains how to install the Yoast SEO plugin in WordPress. This will help to improve the SEO of your site, including generating a sitemap.

The plugin also includes search engine friendly markup (using https://schema.org/ standards) for FAQs and How To instructions.

Requirements

WordPress Admin Account.

Skill Level

Basic knowledge of WordPress.

Instructions

Time needed: 5 minutes.

  1. Log into WordPress Admin.

    This is usually accessed via yourdomain.com/wp-admin.

  2. Go to the Add Plugins page.

  3. Search for the Yoast SEO plugin.

    In the Search plugins… field, enter Yoast SEO.

  4. Install the Yoast SEO plugin.

    In the Yoast SEO listing, click Install Now.

  5. Activate the Yoast SEO plugin.

    After the plugin has installed, click Activate in the Yoast SEO listing.

  6. Start using the Yoast SEO plugin.
